Now more than ever, in this stressful time of the pandemic, it's important that we make time to rest, not only to maintain and even increase productivity but also to avoid burnout. Patty and Brandi talk through the work of Alex Soojung Kim Pang, taking walks, taking naps, and the paintings of Winston Churchill.

"It’s easier being in each other’s presence, or in each other’s absence, than in the constant presence of each other’s absence." --Gianpiero Petriglieri
Many of us are more connected to our colleagues than ever as we work remotely during the Coronavirus Pandemic. Thanks to Zoom, we may now see our colleagues more than we ever did when we worked in the office. If Zoom calls are the same as meetings, then why are so many of us so much more exhausted than we ever were after a day full of physical meetings? As it turns out, there's a very real psychological reason why . . . and there are things we can do to make staying connected on Zoom a more healthy experience for all of us.

Growth Mindset Vs. Fixed Mindset: Finance Matters
Sunday Mar 01, 2020
Sunday Mar 01, 2020
After studying the behavior of thousands of children and adolescents, researcher Carol S. Dweck noticed that some children seemed eager to learn and grow, while some seemed more satisfied with the status quo, fearing failure. Dweck's resulting work introduced the "growth mindset," describing those individuals who view talent and natural ability as only the starting point that can be built upon through dedication and hard work. Whether we have a growth mindset or a fixed mindset affects how we deal with change, with failure, and with opportunity, whether that is in our work lives, raising children, or in our relationships. Listen in as Patty and Brandi discuss the basics of Dweck's theory and how we can develop a mindset that enables us to grow.
